HENRI BERGSON — BOOK GUIDE

Read Henri Bergson without giving up

Clock-time can be divided, measured, and laid out like points on a line. But the time we actually live is different: moments flow into one another and cannot be cleanly separated. Bergson calls this durée, or lived duration. The intellect is excellent at dividing things for practical use; intuition is his name for the effort to enter a moving reality and grasp its flow from within. This guide moves from the clearest short doorway into that method to the major works, using established English translations of the French originals.

The order is designed for general readers who are new to Bergson. If you want to widen out from Bergson, visit the general Philosophy Bookshelf.
