About this site
What this guide does
The Bergson Bookshelf is for general readers approaching Henri Bergson for the first time. It introduces five established English translations of French originals and arranges them from a short account of method through the core works and late synthesis. The guiding distinction is between measurable, spatialized clock-time and durée, the indivisible time we live.
Editorial policy
- Book data and edition notes are stated directly; prices are never displayed.
- Difficulty labels describe the reading path, not Amazon customer ratings.
- The guide does not reproduce Amazon reviews or publisher copy.
- Each page names the translator. Claims are limited to the supplied bibliographic and editorial notes.
- Creative Evolution is included as the English-language flagship even though it has no one-to-one page on the Japanese sister site.
Affiliate disclosure
As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases. Links marked for Amazon may produce a commission without changing the price paid by the reader. The current US site has no issued Associates tag, so its product URLs are bare Amazon.com product links.
Privacy
This static site does not ask for names, email addresses, or payment information. Its script stores anonymous Amazon-link click counts in your browser’s local storage to help evaluate the editorial ordering. That data is not sent to this site.
